about us

The Redford Commission on Youth and Families is dedicated to improving the life and experiences of kids and their families here in Redford Township.  By securing partnerships with multiple businesses, community groups, and municipal departments, we are excited to provide sponsorships for educational and enrichment programs in Redford Township.

Our current programming includes Law Day where we partner with the 17th District Court to invite high schoolers to visit the Hall of Justice in Lansing where they meet with professionals in multiple legal fields to discuss future career ideas and gain an understanding of the United States justice system, partnership with the Hope Empowerment Coalition which focuses on Suicide Prevention, and Kid’s Day activities at all Township festivals.

We sponsor Lunch and Learns at the Redford Township District Library for Township leaders to make an impact on the community such as Human Trafficking Awareness and Internet Safety seminars.  The Commission also supports other organizations in the Township such as purchasing board games for the Redford Goodfellows to distribute, donating to Redford Interfaith Relief’s efforts to reduce food poverty in Redford Township, and partnering with the Redford Township Police Department for National Night Out and sponsoring Police Explorers to attend the Michigan Law Enforcement Youth Training Academy.

The Redford Commission on Youth and Families is consistently looking to build new relationships in an effort to create more meaningful impacts in Redford Township.
